The story of the game is based on an event that took place in the early 1980s, when the Cold War was at its peak. At that time, the US and the USSR were engaged in an extremely dangerous nuclear war, which was about to bring about the end of the world.

But luckily, it was stopped short of starting the apocalypse. Instead, it resulted in a huge nuclear fallout, which affected the entire world.
